Miso soup with pork and vegetables (a.k.a Tonjiru)

2 cups water
1 packet dashi soup base
30g sliced pork belly, cut into small pieces
100g daikon, radish
30g carrot
70g konnyaku
50g Japanese sweet potato
10g dried tofu
30g green onion
12g miso paste

1.    Place water in a medium sauce pan and bring to a low simmer
2.    Add a dashi packet and simmer for 5 minutes, and remove the packet
3.    Peel and cut the daikon and carrot into thin 1cm long strips 0.5cm wide. Cut the Japanese sweet potato (with skin on), green onion and into 1cm chunks. Slice the dried tofu into thin strips. Cut the konnyaku(konjac) into 0.5cm wide slices, and boil it for few seconds.
4.    Add the pork and vegetables, and simmer until the ingredients are soft, about 15-20 minutes depending on ingredients you put
5.    Remove the scum using strainer while simmering
6.    Stir in the Miso, and serve immediately
