Tofu Hamburger Steak with Red Wine Sauce




<Tofu Hamburger steak mixture>
・200 g mixture of minced pork and beef
・100 g tofu
・1/2 onion (roughly chopped)
・2 tbsp. dried bread crumbs (or 3 tbsp. fresh bread crumbs)
・1 egg
・some nutmeg
・some salt and pepper

・1 tbsp. cooking oil

<Red wine sauce>
・150 ml red wine
・1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
・1 tsp. honey
・1 tsp. soy sauce
・some salt and pepper


1. Wrap the tofu with cooking paper and microwave for about 2 minutes at 600 W. Drain the water.
2. Put all the hamburger mixture ingredients into a bowl and well mix. Pan-fry the small amount of the mixture to check the taste. If needed, add more salt and pepper.
3. Divide the mixture into two and shape into an oval with removing the air from the mixture. Pan-fry the mixture on both sides over low heat for about 8 minutes on total.
4. When the hamburger steaks are cooked, remove them from the frying pan and add all the ingredients of the sauce into the same pan, them reduce for about 2 minutes.
5. Serve the Hamburg immediately with the sauce.
